Air Canada Celebrates Inspiring Immigrants in Atlantic Canada

Feb 07, 2025

In January, Air Canada was the official airline partner of the 2025 Most Inspiring Immigrants in Atlantic Canada ceremony for the third consecutive year. An Advisory Committee comprised of members from Canada’s Atlantic region identified and honoured 13 immigrants who stand out in their towns and cities across the East Coast –trailblazers and leaders who have made a positive impact through leadership, vision, social responsibility, and impact in their communities.

Additionally, five international students received a $2,000 scholarship through the Student Bursary Program. The winners who submitted a personal essay reflecting their contributions have demonstrated a positive impact and leadership within their community.

Air Canada is proud to partner with My East Coast Experience, celebrating the Immigrant Experience on Canada’s East Coast. My East Coast Experience’s goal is to communicate the experiences of their region’s newcomers and celebrate the contributions of immigrants to their chosen home in Canada. By sharing their stories, from their struggles and cultural adjustments to their victories and achievements, they strive to inspire others. We also feature their podcast, Our Guest Is – My East Coast Experience on our In-Flight entertainment system.

“Being on the jury for this competition not only introduced me to many interesting and influential people, but also made me realize how proud, dedicated and resilient are the newcomers to our country who constantly go above and beyond to make their lives better in their new home, as well as those of others around them,” said Eric Lauzon, Director, Community Relations and Partnerships at Air Canada.

Supporting this event aligns with Air Canada’s mission of sharing the best of Canada and the world by elevating economic development and celebrating society through the support of newcomers and multiculturalism.
