Yellowknife Evacuation Disruptions – 17 August, 2023
Air North, Yukon’s Airline remains actively engaged in the current evacuation order in place for Yellowknife and the surrounding areas. Due to the order and operational demands, we will be forced to temporarily suspend our regular scheduled flights to and from Yellowknife until Tuesday, 22 August. This suspension of services may be extended if the emergency persists and public orders remain in place.
Air North will continue to work with the Government of Canada, Government of Northwest Territories and local officials during this fluid situation to ensure our passengers stay informed of any developments along this route. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may experience.
Passengers travelling between Whitehorse and Toronto or Ottawa will be re-accommodated on the following flights:

Yellowknife – Cargo Service Update
Our cargo offices in Yellowknife will be temporarily closed with non-emergency services halted until further notice. Safety is our paramount concern – we recognize the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely apologize.
Air North will continue to work with the Government of the Northwest Territories and local emergency services to provide logistical support and emergency cargo shipments where possible.

Northwest Territories Wildfire Advisory
Please be advised the Government of the Northwest Territories has now issued an evacuation order for Yellowknife. Air North, Yukon’s Airline is actively participating in these operations in collaboration with local, territorial and federal officials, and has committed to providing flights and other logistical support to the evacuation process. The Government of Northwest Territories is recommending against non-emergency travel to Yellowknife.
Air North will be waiving all change and cancellation fees for flights to and from Yellowknife (YZF) and Inuvik (YEV) – this will be in effect until further notice. While we will work diligently to maintain essential services and scheduled flights, operational demands and conditions may result in delays or cancellations. Air North understands the potential inconvenience this may cause and we apologize. We strongly encourage travellers to stay informed by regularly checking our website for the latest updates, and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our customer service team.
