London, Ontario – February 27, 2025 – Airshow London is proud to announce that last night, at the Festivals & Events Ontario (FEO) Awards Gala, they were awarded the Best Volunteer Program. The Awards Gala was held in Kitchener, Ontario as part of the FEO’s annual “Synergy” Conference.
Submissions for the FEO Achievement Awards were received in the Fall of 2024 and evaluated by an independent panel of judges. The awards recognize the accomplishments and successes of festivals and events held within the previous year, with submissions ranging from local community festivals to internationally recognized events.
Among this year’s winners was Airshow London, who stood out for their exceptional volunteer program. Volunteers are the driving force behind SkyDrive, their annual air show, ensuring smooth operations and a memorable experience for thousands of attendees.

Each year, more than 500 volunteers contribute their time, expertise, and enthusiasm to make SkyDrive a success. In 2024 alone, they dedicated over 9,600 hours – an approximate value of $170,000 and the equivalent of more than a full year’s worth of accumulated time.
What sets Airshow London’s volunteer program apart is their comprehensive recruitment, training, and retention strategies, which ensure a seamless and rewarding experience for both volunteers and SkyDrive attendees. The organization fosters a strong sense of community through initiatives like their annual Volunteer Appreciation Party, where they present ‘Top Gun’ Awards, recognizing individuals who go above and beyond in their volunteer roles.
As they prepare to celebrate their 10th anniversary under the Airshow London name, this recognition reinforces their commitment to excellence, community engagement, and volunteer leadership.
