  • GTAA Reports 2025 Third Quarters Results

TORONTO, Nov. 10, 2025 /CNW/ – The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (“GTAA”) today reported its financial and operating results for the third quarter and the first nine months of 2025. Toronto Pearson, Canada’s busiest airport, saw slight growth in its overall passenger volumes, which increased by 0.3 million or 2.3% to 13.1 million for the third quarter and 0.3 million or 0.7% to 35.8 million year-to-date, when compared to the same periods in 2024. This was largely driven by strong domestic growth that was partially offset by declines in the international sector. The international sector was impacted by the ongoing decline in transborder travel. Passenger volume in the third quarter was also impacted by an air carrier labour disruption. Year-to-date passenger volume was also impacted by extreme weather events, and a five-day runway closure due to a single aircraft incident in the first quarter.

“In Q3 2025 we delivered strong growth in the domestic sector, which more than offset the decline in transborder U.S. travel for overall steady growth in passenger volume. As we near the end of this quarter, we expect to see continued progress in our year-over-year performance,” said Deborah Flint, President and CEO.

“We are on track to deliver on our 2025 business initiatives, maintaining momentum and driving outcomes, demonstrated by the award of Accelerator program, and the in-flight procurement of the T1/T3 Revitalization and Gateway programs. These are critical elements to progressing our strategy that will position us well in 2026,” added Flint.

Toronto Pearson continues to monitor the global economic and political landscape, assess risks, and be ready to adapt amid economic uncertainty.

Revenues for the third quarter were $562.2 million, an increase of 5.8%; year-to-date revenue was $1,570.2 million, an increase of 5.7%, compared to the same periods in 2024. The increase in the third quarter and year-to-date is primarily driven by rate and fee increases, aviation activity and a marginal increase in overall passenger traffic.

Earnings before interest and financing costs, and amortization (“EBITDA”) for the third quarter was $291.6 million, an increase of 6.1%; year-to-date EBITDA was $769.3 million, an increase of 4.7%, compared to the same periods of 2024.  The increase in EBITDA is related to higher revenues associated with the increase in aeronautical fees and AIF partially offset by an increase in operating costs (before amortization), and an air carrier labour disruption. EBITDA margin during the third quarter was 51.9%, an increase of 0.2 percentage points due to the aforementioned factors. Year-to-date EBITDA margin was 49.0%, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points primarily due to the impact on passenger volume from extreme weather events, and a five-day runway closure due to a single aircraft incident in the first quarter of 2025 and from an air carrier labour disruption in the third quarter of 2025.

Net income during the third quarter was $138.6 million, an increase of 13.3%, and year-to-date net income was $317.7 million, an increase of 12.5%, compared to the same periods of 2024, driven by the increase in revenues offset by the increase in expenses.

Free Cash Flow for the third quarter was $175.7 million, a decrease of 9.5% compared to the same period in 2024 primarily driven by lower cash flow from operations, partially offset by lower cash outflows related to capital expenditure. Year-to-date free cash flow was $360.3 million, an increase of 2.6% compared to the same period in 2024, driven by  lower cash outflows related to capital expenditure partially offset by lower cash flow from operations, lower receipt of funds under the ACIP and higher net interest expense.

The GTAA’s September 30, 2025 financial results are discussed in more detail in the GTAA’s Condensed Interim Consolidated Financial Statements and Management’s Discussion and Analysis, each for the three and nine-months ended September 30, 2025, which are available at www.torontopearson.com

  • ADM ANNOUNCES ITS FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE THIRD QUARTER OF 2025

MONTREAL, Nov. 4, 2025 /CNW/ – ADM Aéroports de Montréal (the “Corporation”) today announced its consolidated operating results for the third quarter and nine-month period ended September 30, 2025. These results are accompanied by passenger traffic data for YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.

    Highlights

    • Passenger numbers at YUL totalled 6.5 million in the third quarter of 2025, down 2.3% compared with 2024. A total of 17.1 million passengers passed through YUL in the first nine months of 2025, down 1.1% compared with 2024. Of note is the growth in the domestic and international sectors, which posted increases of 1.6% and 0.9%, respectively, compared with the same period in 2024. The transborder sector was down by 8.8% compared with the corresponding period in 2024.
    • EBITDA (earnings before net financial expenses, income taxes, depreciation and impairment, and share in the results of joint ventures, see the “Non-GAAP measures” section for more information) was $139.4 million for the third quarter of 2025, a decrease of $7.2 million compared with EBITDA of $146.6 million for the same period in 2024. For the cumulative period ended September 30, 2025, EBITDA was $335.4 million, a decrease of $25.9 million compared with EBITDA of $361.3 million for the first nine months of 2024.
    • Capital investments (net of subsidies) were $197.8 million in the third quarter of 2025, compared with $110.9 million for the corresponding period of 2024, an increase of $86.9 million, or 78.4%. Capital investments for the nine months ended September 30, 2025, totalled $488.0 million ($282.0 million in 2024), an increase of $206.0 million, or 73.0%. For the first nine months of 2025, investments in the Airport Program amounted to $391.0 million ($221.6 million in 2024) and those for the airport REM Station totalled $97.0 million ($60.4 million in 2024).

    Quote

“Despite the slight decline in traffic during the last quarter, which was inevitably affected by the current geopolitical context, it was a busy summer at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport. A large number of passengers passed through our international airport, and we saw growth in both the domestic and international sectors,” said Yves Beauchamp, President and CEO of ADM. “The ADM teams remain active and focused on the Flight Plan, the ambitious development plan for the airport site. Major work is underway, including reconfiguring the road network leading to the terminal and closing the multi-level parking facility. This will ultimately allow us to add new lanes and triple the capacity of the pick-up and drop-off areas in front of the terminal. More than ever, travelling to YUL will require patience, concentration, and observation. With all these changes, I would like to thank the ADM teams and airport community employees once again for their dedication and excellent work.”

    Financial results

Consolidated revenues were $266.4 million for the third quarter of 2025, an increase of $1.0 million, or 0.4%, compared with the same quarter in 2024. Cumulative revenues to September 30, 2025, increased by 1.5%, from $707.4 million to $718.1 million in 2025. These results are attributable to the AIF rate increase on March 1, 2024 and the annual increase in aeronautical fees, partially offset by lower passenger traffic and the implementation of incentive and promotional programs to continue diversifying our destinations for our travellers.

Operating expenses totalled $86.1 million for the third quarter of 2025, an increase of $8.2 million, or 10.6%, compared with the same period of 2024. For the nine months ended September 30, 2025, operating expenses increased by $35.1 million, or 15.0%, to $268.9 million compared with $233.8 million for the same period in 2024. The increase is primarily due to costs associated with preliminary studies to enable implementation of the airport facilities development plan, costs related to passenger services — particularly to mitigate the impact of construction on airport traffic flow during peak periods — increased information technology expenses as the Corporation transitions to cloud-based solutions, and increased headcount compared with the same period in 2024.

Transfers to governments (payments in lieu of municipal taxes [PILT] and rent to Transport Canada) remained stable for the quarter under review at $40.9 million compared with the previous year and represented 15.4% of ADM revenues (15.4% in 2024). For the first nine months of 2025, transfers amounted to $113.8 million, an increase of $1.5 million compared with the same period in 2024, representing 15.8% of ADM’s total revenues (15.9% in 2024).

Depreciation and impairment of property and equipment and right-of-use assets was $47.1 million for the third quarter of 2025, an increase of $5.5 million, or 13.1%, from the same period in 2024. As at September 30, 2025, these expenses increased by $8.9 million, or 7.2%, to $132.2 million. This increase is mainly due to the revaluation of the remaining useful life of the pick-up and drop-off areas and the multi-level parking facility in front of the airport as well as the commissioning of the P4 parking in March 2024.

Net financial expenses totalled $25.2 million for the quarter under review, up $2.8 million, or 12.6%, from the same period in 2024. Cumulative net financial expenses at September 30, 2025 totalled $75.3 million compared with $66.0 million for 2024, an increase of $9.3 million, or 14.1%, over the previous year. This variance is primarily due to lower interest income on surplus cash.

Net income was $67.1 million for the third quarter ended September 30, 2025, compared with $82.9 million for the same period in 2024, a decrease of $15.8 million, or 19.1%. Net income was $128.1 million at September 30, 2025, a decrease of $44.5 million, or 25.8%, compared with the same period in 2024.

    Financial situation

ADM’s net debt at September 30, 2025, was $2.4 billion, compared with $2.2 billion at December 31, 2024; see the “Non-GAAP Measures” section for more information. The change is primarily due to the use of cash for capital investments.

    Sustainability at ADM

During this quarter, ADM implemented the following initiatives to pursue its commitment to sustainability. The organization has notably:

    • Reached an agreement in principle with the City of Dorval to preserve the operation of the Dorval Golf Club at the YUL site by negotiating a 15-year lease. By ensuring the longevity of the golf club, ADM is continuing its mission to contribute to the prosperity of the community by embodying the vitality of Greater Montréal.
    • Reached a major milestone with the announcement of funding for the YMX Express shuttle by the Québec government. This is the first project funded by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility’s Collective Partnerships program, a structuring initiative that relies on public-private collaboration to improve access to employment hubs. For the past year, more than 1,300 passengers, including YMX employees and visitors, have been using the shuttle service from the Montmorency metro station every week.
    • Supported the very first flight of an Airbus A220 powered by 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at the YMX site. Thanks to this sustainable fuel, more than 25 tons of CO₂ were avoided over the entire life cycle of the flight to Paris.
    • Hosted the 17th edition of the 48-HOUR RIDE to benefit Make-A-Wish Canada at its YMX International Aerocity of Mirabel site. Fifty-three ADM employees joined more than 3,000 cyclists who rode hundreds of kilometres, day and night, to raise more than $3.7 million and make the dreams of children with serious illnesses come true.

  • Niagara District Airport unveils new 20-year Master PlanVision to transform air access and unlock growth in Niagara’s tourism industry

    OCTOBER 28, 2025

Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON – Today, Niagara District Airport (the “Airport”) released its 2025 – 2045 Master Plan, a community-informed roadmap that presents a bold, sustainable vision for the next 20 years.

The Master Plan outlines the path forward in transforming the Airport from a general aviation hub into a modern regional gateway, bringing commercial passenger flights to the heart of the region, and unlocking significant growth in Niagara’s tourism industry. The Airport’s redevelopment is projected to generate more than $1 billion in economic output and bring over seven million passengers through the region over the course of the plan – a transformative step forward in enhancing Niagara’s connectivity and economic vitality.

Several upgrades to the Airport terminal building and grounds are necessary to support this growth, including additional parking, extending the main runway and terminal building, and establishing Canadian Air Transport Security Authority and Canada Border Services Agency amenities.

“As one of Canada’s top tourism regions, Niagara deserves an airport that makes it convenient for national and international visitors to enjoy our region’s wineries, restaurants, and attractions,” said Greg Wight, Chair of the Niagara District Airport Commission. “What makes our Airport’s unique is the unmatched location. The visionoutlined in our Master Plan demonstrates how strategic, sustainable investments in air access to Niagara will boost tourism, strengthen our regional economy, and position the Airport as an indispensable gateway to our region and beyond.”

Centrally located in the region and just a 12 minute drive to historic old town Niagara-on-the-Lake, downtown St. Catharines, and the world-famous Niagara Falls, the Airport is uniquely positioned to become a vital aviation hub for the region’s half-a-million residents and 12 million annual visitors. While tourism growth in Niagara has remained relatively flat since 2013 (excluding pandemic-related impacts), the Master Plan sees improved air access – including direct commercial flights – as an opportunity to attract new visitor markets, such as more overnight visitors, to help boost the region’s tourism economy.

At completion of the plan, the Airport will be positioned to accommodate nearly 600,000 passengers annually. Modernizing the Airport means more jobs for local workers, more customers for Niagara businesses, and an overall enhanced visitor experience, offering people more reasons to stay and enjoy all the region has to offer.

The Master Plan includes input from Niagara residents, local businesses, tourism and industry leaders, municipal representatives, Airport staff, Airport businesses and user groups, and government agencies. Feedback was gathered through interviews, public information sessions, and a project website.

With the Niagara District Airport Commission’s approval of the Master Plan, the Airport is moving forward with next steps as outlined in the plan. This includes pursuing funding strategies, engaging with airline carriers, and launching community engagement initiatives to keep the public informed and involved.

    Public Information Session

Residents, business owners, community members, and media are invited to attend the upcoming public information session on November 13, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. This will be an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the Master Plan, ask questions, and provide feedback.

Master Plan and Executive Summary The Niagara District Airport 2025 – 2045 Master Plan, as well as its Executive Summary document, is available on the Airport’s website: www.niagaradistrictairport.ca.

    Quotes

“We’re the biggest population in Canada without regular daily scheduled flights. This is the road map to get us there.” – Mayor Jim Diodati, City of Niagara Falls

“The Master Plan presents an exciting vision for Niagara’s future, and it’s a vision that recognizes the Airport’s unique potential to strengthen our economy and expand access to the region. While there’s still important work ahead to ensure this vision is realized responsibly and sustainably, today marks a meaningful step toward unlocking new opportunities for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.” – Mayor Mat Siscoe, City of St. Catharines

“The release of the Niagara District Airport’s Master Plan is an important step in shaping the future direction of this regional asset. The Niagara District Airport continues to play a key role in fostering local connectivity and economic growth, and the Town is committed to continued collaboration with our municipal partners to review the plan and identify opportunities that best serve our residents, businesses, and the broader community.” – Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa, Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake

“At the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce (GNCC), we believe that the Niagara District Airport holds transformative economic potential for our region. Niagara’s tourism sector has become world-class even without a full commercial airport in the region; with the developments outlined in the plan, it could become world-leading. The benefits, however, would not be limited to tourism alone – a number of sectors would experience significant growth, creating opportunities that extend across the broader economy and, with that, to the people of Niagara. The impact on
economic growth, jobs, and prosperity for Niagara would be substantial. On behalf of the Niagara business community it is our privilege to represent, we fully support this plan.” – Mishka Balsom, CEO, Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce

  • Toronto Pearson announces innovation pilots with DMZ, Creative Destruction Lab

TORONTO, Oct. 27, 2025 /CNW/ – Toronto Pearson is announcing new innovation pilot programs with technology incubator DMZ and global startup program Creative Destruction Lab.

The two pilot programs, both set to run for six months, are meant to broaden the airport’s pool of suppliers beyond traditional aviation technology companies, said Brian Tossan, Toronto Pearson’s chief technology officer and interim chief infrastructure officer.

“Canada and Toronto are hotbeds for startup talent and artificial intelligence, and many of these companies are right in our back yard. We want to expand our roster of suppliers to bring in cutting-edge technologies and foster cross-sectoral innovation. This will accelerate digitalization at Canada’s busiest airport,” Tossan said.

The DMZ pilot initiative aims to support Toronto Pearson in engaging with emerging startups. The airport seeks to leverage advanced technologies not conventionally used in the aviation sector to support capacity growth, drive operational efficiencies, elevate passenger experience, gather real-time information, support non-aeronautical revenue and better manage how travelers and employees engage with GTAA amenities. Sherif El Tawil, DMZ’s senior director of programs and global operations, will work on site as an expert in residence, learning about the airport’s business and connecting it to growing companies with innovative companies with ideas and products.

“Toronto Pearson is setting the bar for how major operators can tap into startup innovation to solve real challenges. The mobility and aviation sector needs fresh thinking and there’s no better place to find breakthrough solutions than with the entrepreneurs building them in our own backyard,” said Abdullah Snobar, executive director of DMZ and CEO of DMZ Ventures. “We’re excited to help Toronto Pearson discover solutions that can make a tangible difference for millions of passengers while showing what’s possible when you give startups a seat at the table.”

The Creative Destruction Lab pilot is focused on artificial intelligence products that can improve Toronto Pearson’s efficiency and resiliency in areas such as baggage handling, gate management and integrated command centers. The airport will participate in CDL’s Putting AI to Work program, which is designed to accelerate implementation and create measurable business impact. The program supports large organizations in selecting, deploying and scaling AI solutions that aim to deliver a 20-percent productivity lift through cost savings, output improvements or enhanced service quality within two years.

“Airports are complex systems where every decision affects capacity, efficiency and the overall experience,” said Sonia Sennik, CEO of Creative Destruction Lab. “Through CDL’s Putting AI to Work program, we’re helping Toronto Pearson apply artificial intelligence to enhance operational resiliency and accelerate digital transformation. Our structured approach supports leadership teams in selecting and scaling AI solutions that deliver measurable productivity gains within two years.”

Toronto Pearson will formally announce the pilot programs Monday evening at an AI event at MaRS Discovery District, held during the 2025 ACI-NA & ACI World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition, the most important global gathering of airport leaders.

Canadian startups can find more information about the DMZ pilot initiative and application process at dmz.to/Toronto-Pearson.

  • YEG Achieves Level 3 in Airport Carbon Accreditation, underscoring carbon management commitment

OCTOBER 27, 2025 (Edmonton, AB) – Edmonton International Airport (YEG) is proud to announce it has reached Level 3 certification from the globally recognized Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program. This significant achievement reflects YEG’s ongoing commitment to carbon reduction and environmental stewardship.

Achieving Level 3 accreditation recognizes YEG’s efforts in managing and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while actively collaborating with external partners to accelerate the global airport industry’s progress in climate change response.

This work requires demonstrated collaboration with third parties, including airlines, tenants and various service providers, such as ground handlers, catering companies, fuelling companies and other businesses working on the airport campus. The airport must also provide comprehensive reporting of Scope 3 emissions, such as aircraft movements, business travel and emissions from airport campus activities.

“Achieving ACA Level 3 is a significant milestone that reflects YEG’s commitment to sustainability and climate action. Our airport city sustainability campus plays a vital role in shaping a more sustainable future for the aviation industry through innovation, collaboration and clean technology. We are committed to advancing our carbon management initiatives, transparent data reporting and strategic partner engagement. This Level 3 achievement marks an important step as we continue progressing toward the next levels of ACA and a net-zero future.” – Myron Keehn, President & CEO, Edmonton International Airport (YEG)

ACI’s Airport Carbon Accreditation program is the only institutionally endorsed carbon management certification standard for airports, requiring them to measure, manage and reduce carbon emissions. In the past five years, Edmonton Airports has advanced initiatives to operate more sustainably by:

    • Building a $12 million natural gas-powered CoGeneration facility, reducing its combined Scope 1 and 2 carbon footprint by approximately 5 per cent (2024)
    • Replacing over 18,000 light fixtures with energy-efficient LED technology
    • Completing a comprehensive Greenhouse Gases (GHG) emissions inventory for all scopes, aligned with the GHG Protocol

With an ambitious target to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, with a primary focus on the airport operations emissions, YEG strives to continue embedding sustainability into every facet of its operations. From implementing robust carbon data collection procedures to completing net-zero action plans, the path to a low-carbon future is progressing at YEG.

    • Ongoing service enhancements include becoming the only carrier to offer Fast, Free Wi-Fi on flights to and from Billy Bishop
    • Expansion complements Air Canada’s presence at Toronto Pearson with more than 600 flights a day to more than 120 destinations next summer

MONTRÉAL, Oct. 23, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Air Canada today unveiled a major expansion at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport with new transborder routes to four major U.S. cities and increased daily flights to Montréal and Ottawa. The new services, with frequencies favourable to business travel, further heighten the customer experience at Billy Bishop airport, including the introduction this month of fast, free onboard Wi-Fi, complimentary onboard premium snacks, beer and wine, and exclusive access to the Aspire Air Canada Café for eligible domestic customers.

Beginning in Spring 2026, Air Canada will launch new, non-stop return service four-times-daily to New York’s LaGuardia Airport, three-times-daily to Boston Logan International Airport, twice-daily to Chicago O’Hare International Airport, and daily to Washington Dulles International Airport. The start of transborder services from Billy Bishop will follow the opening of U.S. Customs Pre-Clearance at the island airport, a convenience for customers flying to U.S. airports from Canada that allows them to clear U.S. customs before departure. In addition, beginning in January 2026, Air Canada will expand its daily services in Canada’s busiest domestic travel corridors by increasing the frequency of return flights to Montréal to nine from eight, and to six from four to Ottawa.

“This is our most significant expansion at Toronto Island since Air Canada first served the airport 35 years ago. The new transborder routes will especially benefit our loyal customers and business travellers by creating frequent and easy connections between the heart of Canada’s financial capital and the major markets of New York, Boston, Washington and Chicago. Moreover, we are increasing at the island the daily frequency of return flights from Toronto to Montréal and Ottawa, which are Canada’s most heavily travelled corridors for business traffic,” said Mark Galardo, Air Canada Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, and President, Cargo.

“These exciting new services reflect Air Canada’s commitment to further elevate the customer experience at Billy Bishop Airport. Our flights are the only ones from Toronto Island to offer travellers the productivity tool of fast, free in-flight Wi-Fi and the comforts of the Aspire Air Canada Café, a quiet space for eligible domestic customers to work or recharge prior to their flight. All customers can also enjoy complimentary premium snacks, beer and wine that we offer on board. Our expanded services at the island complement our already extensive services from Toronto Pearson where we will operate more than 600 return flights a day to 124 destinations next summer. This expansion ensures the Greater Toronto Area and beyond are highly connected for business and leisure travel, making Air Canada the preferred choice for travel to and from the GTA.”

“We are delighted to welcome Air Canada’s expanded routes at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport – a milestone that underscores our shared commitment to enhancing connectivity, convenience, and choice for travellers. This expansion of routes not only continues to strengthen Toronto as a place for business and leisure, but also reflects confidence in Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport’s role as a gateway to the future of passenger-centric urban air travel. We look forward to working with Air Canada to help shape the next chapter of growth and innovation for the airport and the city and region we proudly serve,” said RJ Steenstra, President & CEO PortsToronto, owner and operator of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

“Today’s announcement represents a new era of business and leisure travel convenience, comfort and accessibility at Billy Bishop Airport,” says Jennifer Quinn, CEO, Nieuport Aviation. “Made possible next year by our new U.S. Customs and Border Protection Preclearance facility, we will offer more destinations within reach, further strengthening our role in connecting communities and driving economic growth across Ontario and Canada.”

“This announcement is excellent news for Canadian travellers. With Air Canada’s new flights from Billy Bishop Airport to the U.S., along with increased flight frequency from Toronto to Ottawa and Montréal, we’re strengthening regional and cross-border connectivity. These additions will make travel more convenient, help connect families across distances, support business growth, and enhance service quality for Canadian travellers,” said the Honourable Steve MacKinnon, federal Minister of Transport.

“Today’s announcement is great news for travelers across the province. This expansion not only strengthens connectivity but supports economic growth, tourism and business opportunities across Canada and the United States – our closest trading partner. Toronto is a key hub for travel and this critical expansion at Billy Bishop Airport will provide more options for Ontarians and improve the customer experience,” said the Honourable Prabmeet Sarkaria, Ontario Minister of Transportation.

“We congratulate our members, Air Canada, Nieuport Aviation and PortsToronto, on this exciting expansion. This is exactly the kind of growth-enabling infrastructure Ontario’s economy needs. By boosting connectivity, cutting travel time and opening access to key Canadian and U.S. markets, it delivers real value for businesses across the province,” said Daniel Tisch, President and CEO, Ontario Chamber of Commerce.

    Increased service to Montréal, Ottawa

In January 2026, Air Canada will add new daily flights from Toronto Island in the popular and heavily travelled Eastern Triangle of Canada. This includes an additional flight to Montréal, bringing the service to nine return flights daily. Between the island and Ottawa, the carrier is adding two frequencies to bring to six the number of total daily return trips to the nation’s capital from Billy Bishop.

Elevating the Billy Bishop Travel Experience

Beginning in October 2025, Air Canada was the first airline to offer fast, free Wi-Fi in-flight to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport travellers. The industry-leading service provides high-quality Internet to give customers gate-to-gate connectivity and non-stop access to productivity tools while travelling on Air Canada Express flights to and from the city airport on some of the most popular business travel routes in Canada and next year to the U.S. It is the first time Wi-Fi has been made available on a De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft type anywhere in the world. The introduction of fast, free Wi-Fi complements the other amenities Air Canada customers flying from Billy Bishop now enjoy, including frequent departures, complimentary in-flight premium snacks, beer and wine, and exclusive access for eligible domestic customers to the Aspire Air Canada Café.

    Regional Flying Reimagined

A full cabin redesign will soon be commenced on 25 De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft operated for Air Canada Express by Jazz. The program includes:

    New Seating

Twenty-five Dash 8-400 operated for Air Canada Express by Jazz will be equipped with next generation, well-padded, ergonomic reclining seats from Expliseat. The seats will feature new branding and design language expressed through the seat’s dress cover. All seats will include a seatback multi-use device holder for tablets and phones, as well as a table tray. The installation of the new seating has an expected completion date for the program in mid-2026. Each aircraft will have 78 seats, and pitch will be unchanged.

    Cabin Interior Redesign

The cabins of these same 25 Dash 8-400s will be upgraded to a new standard reflective of Air Canada ’s mainline aircraft interiors. The design incorporates colours, textures and tones of those found in Canadian nature, reinforcing Air Canada’s pride in being the nation’s flag carrier.
