  • Premium Kids event at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport: Nearly 200 People at the 12th Edition

    ADM and Air Transat are partnering to offer families of children with autism spectrum disorder or functional limitations the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the airport process and the experience on board an aircraft

    MONTRÉAL, April 12, 2026 /CNW/ – The 12th annual Premium Kids event at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, organized by ADM Aéroports de Montréal in partnership with Air Transat, took place in a joyful atmosphere filled with hearty laughter and beaming smiles. This unique day allows children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or functional limitations and their families to familiarize themselves with the airport process and the experience on board an aircraft to ease their apprehension about travelling.

    This year, nearly 200 people participated in the typical airport process, from arrival to security screening, boarding, and the announcement of safety procedures on board the aircraft.

    Presented as part of Autism Awareness Month, this initiative is inspired by a similar program, Wings for Autism, launched in 2011 by the Charles River Center in collaboration with the Massachusetts Port Authority (Boston-Logan International Airport).     MONTRÉAL, April 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Air Canada today opened a new Air Canada Café at Vancouver International Airport (YVR), marking its second Café location for its Domestic customers, expanding its premium ground offering and continuing its investment in the customer experience. This follows the successful launch of a new Café at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) in the Transborder sector.

    New Café at Vancouver International Airport Channels West Coast Serenity

    Opening its doors today, the second Air Canada Café at YVR is located on the C concourse near gates 50 and 51 and offers an expanded 84-seat, 4,489-square-foot space. Anchoring the premium experience is a full-service bar with specialty barista-made coffees, local craft beers on tap and a selection of local wines including Narrative Red and a sparkling rosé from our long-standing partner Okanagan Crush Pad in addition to an impressive selection of international wines and wines and crafted cocktails.

    The menu draws from seasonal and locally sourced ingredients that reflect Vancouver’s vibrant culinary landscape. Customers can enjoy favourites such as warm char siu pork bao buns, vegan curry bao, freshly made vegetarian Kimbap and sweet treats from the iconic Granville Island institution, Lee’s Donuts.

    The Café’s design, by Vancouver-based firm SmartDesign Group, is rooted in the city’s deep connection to the land. A sculptural ceiling evokes the shoreline of Stanley Park, while lighting from Vancouver lighting studio A-N-D recalls the organic forms of river rocks. The space is enriched by art from local artist Renée Van Halm and anchored by a custom piece, ‘Connections’, by Kelly Cannell, a Coast Salish artist from the Musqueam Nation.

    The Vancouver opening follows the March 24 debut of a new Air Canada Café in the U.S. departures pier at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, marking Air Canada’s second Café location at YUL. The 62-seat Montréal Café is inspired by the city’s renowned “third wave” coffee culture and offers U.S.-bound travellers a premium pre-flight experience.

  • ADM Announces Its Financial Results for 2025

    MONTRÉAL, March 30, 2026 /CNW/ – ADM Aéroports de Montréal (the “Corporation”) announced today its consolidated operating results for the year ended December 31, 2025. These results are accompanied by passenger traffic data for YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.

    Highlights

    • Passenger traffic at YUL totalled 5.2 million in the fourth quarter of 2025, up 1.2% compared with 2024. In total, 22.4 million passengers passed through YUL in 2025, down 0.5% compared with 2024. Notably, the domestic and international sectors grew, posting increases of 1.9% and 2.4%, respectively, over the same period in 2024. The transborder sector (U.S.) declined by 9.5% compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
    • EBITDA (earnings before income taxes, net financial expenses, depreciation and impairment and share in the results of joint ventures; see the “Non-GAAP Measures” section for more information) was $442.9 million for fiscal 2025, an increase of $3.8 million over EBITDA of $439.1 million for the previous year.
    • Capital investments (net of grants) were $696.5 million in 2025, compared with $439.1 million in 2024, an increase of $257.4 million, or 58.6%. Investments in the Airport program totalled $582.8 million ($352.1 million in 2024), and those for the airport’s REM station totalled $113.7 million ($87.0 million in 2024).

    Financial results

    Consolidated revenues totalled $960.8 million in 2025, an increase of $43.6 million, or 4.8%, compared with 2024. These results are attributable to the increase in AIF fees, which took effect on March 1, 2024, as well as the annual increase in aeronautical charges, which were partially offset by the slight decrease in passenger traffic and carrier activity.

    Operating expenses for the year under review totalled $369.5 million, an increase of $38.2 million, or 11.5%, compared with 2024. This increase is mainly due to costs associated with preliminary studies that will enable the implementation of the airport facilities development plan, passenger service expenses–particularly to mitigate the impact of construction on traffic flow during peak periods–increased information technology spending as the Corporation transitions to cloud-based solutions, and increased headcount over 2024.

    Transfers to governments (payments made in lieu of taxes to municipalities [PILT] and rent to Transport Canada) totalled $148.4 million, an increase of $1.6 million compared with the previous fiscal year and represented 15.4% of ADM’s total revenues (16.0% in 2024).

    Depreciation and impairment of property and equipment and right-of-use assets were $183.1 million in 2025, an increase of $14.2 million, or 8.4%, from 2024. This increase is mainly due to the commissioning of new assets in 2025 and 2024.

    Net financial expenses totalled $100.8 million in 2025, an increase of $12.7 million, or 14.4%, compared with 2024. This variance is mainly due to a decrease in interest income on surplus cash.

    Net income was $159.0 million for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025, compared with $182.0 million in 2024, a decrease of $23.0 million, or 12.7%.

    Sustainability at ADM

    During this quarter, ADM implemented the following initiatives to pursue its commitment to sustainability:

    • Won the Eureka Award in the Transportation Organization category, presented by Écotech Québec, for the development and successful testing of the new ECOWAY50 deicing fluid, developed in collaboration with Electro Carbon.
    • Launched a new edition of its “Chez ADM, on Centraide” campaign, through which it contributes to the fight against poverty, exclusion, and inequality. This initiative also enabled some 30 ADM employees to volunteer with three organizations affiliated with Centraide. Thanks to the generosity of employees, a total of $131,540 was donated to Centraide of Greater Montréal and Centraide Laurentides.
    • Hosted a blood drive at its YMX site organized in partnership with Héma-Québec, Safran, and ADM. Thanks to the generosity of the YMX airport community, more than 200 patients will benefit from these valuable donations.
    • Took a new step forward in its efforts to electrify and decarbonize its operations by introducing five new Nova Bus electric buses at its YUL site. These buses now transport passengers between Parking Lot P4 and the terminal.

    For several years now, YUL has remained in the top 10 of the overall “Best Airports in North America” category. Notably, only two other Canadian airports are included in this category. YUL climbed five spots compared to last year and ranked 46th on the overall list of the top 100 international airports, as determined by votes from travellers worldwide.

    The Skytrax World Airport Awards are considered a benchmark of quality within the global airport industry. The awards are given out as part of the world’s largest annual airport customer satisfaction survey, which is conducted among more than 565 airports and millions of travellers worldwide. The survey evaluates the user experience in all areas of airport services and facilities, including arrival, check-in, retail offerings, security, and departure at the boarding gate. The survey period ran from August 2025 to February 2026. The survey and awards are conducted independently of any control or contribution by the airports.

  • Air Canada Provides Update on Air Canada Express Flight AC8646

    MONTRÉAL, March 23, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — A Jazz Aviation Mitsubishi CRJ-900 was involved in an accident upon landing at New York LaGuardia on March 22, 2026.  

    Flight AC8646, operated by Air Canada Express carrier Jazz Aviation LP (Jazz), originated from Montréal. The preliminary passenger list indicates the airplane was carrying approximately 72 passengers and four crew members, although this is subject to confirmation. The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 pm.

    The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that the pilot and the first officer were killed in this accident. We are deeply saddened by the loss of two Jazz employees, and our deepest condolences go out to the entire Jazz community and their families. 

    Air Canada cannot confirm the exact number of injuries or if there are other fatalities at this time.

    Emergency services are on site taking care of injured passengers, and some have been transported to local hospitals.

    No further details are available at this time; however, Air Canada and Jazz will continue to issue regular updates as information becomes known.

    Air Canada and Jazz Aviation teams are preparing to make their way to the site and details will be provided through additional statements as soon as possible.

    Air Canada and Jazz Aviation are cooperating with the Transportation Safety Board of Canada and the National Transportation Safety Board in the United States in the investigation of the cause of this incident.

  • Chorus Aviation Provides Update Regarding Accident Involving Subsidiary Jazz Aviation LP

    HALIFAX, NS, March 23, 2026 /CNW/ – Chorus Aviation Inc. (TSX: CHR) (“Chorus“) confirms that it has been advised of an accident involving flight AC8646 operated by a CRJ900 aircraft by its subsidiary, Jazz Aviation LP (“Jazz“), operating as Air Canada Express. The accident occurred at LaGuardia (LGA) at approximately at approximately 11:47PM local time on March 22, 2026. The flight was en route to LGA from Montréal (YUL) and collided with a fire truck on the runway upon landing at New York LaGuardia (LGA).

    Officials with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that the pilot and the first officer were killed in this accident. Jazz is working to support family members and employees at this difficult time. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones affected.

    With spring break approaching and many families and travellers planning to fly to sunny destinations, ADM Aéroports de Montréal would like to remind passengers of some important tips for a smoother experience at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, which is undergoing major changes to better serve its users.

    Due to reduced parking availability following the permanent closure of the multi-level parking facility and EconoParc P5, parking reservations are essential to guarantee a spot in the airport parking lots. Additionally, due to increased traffic, access to the site is more difficult during peak hours. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that all passengers plan their trips accordingly and prioritize using the Express P4 and P10 drop-off areas. Passengers should also arrive at the airport three hours before their flight.

    • Please use the Express drop-off area near parking lot P4 to pick up your loved ones. Make sure the passenger you are picking up has arrived before heading there. If they haven’t arrived yet, use the CellParc holding lot. You can stay there for free for up to 2 hours.
