June 17, 2026 // Ottawa, ON and Southport, MB — SkyAlyne is proud to join Airbus Helicopters, the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), and the Government of Canada in celebrating delivery completion for the first CT-153 Juno (Airbus H135) helicopter for the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program. Following an appearance at the CANSEC Defence Tradeshow in Ottawa, aircraft 153201 was ferried to Southport, Manitoba where it underwent the final acceptance by the Government of Canada, and ownership of the aircraft was officially transferred to the RCAF.
The CT-153 Juno fleet will serve as the Advanced Flying Training – Rotary Wing platform within FAcT, supporting development of core pilot competencies including basic rotary-wing instruction, advanced instrument flight rules (IFR) training, and tactical mission preparation.
“This first helicopter delivery marks an important milestone for the Future Aircrew Training program and reflects the strong collaboration between SkyAlyne, Airbus, the Royal Canadian Air Force, and our industry partners,” said Kevin Lemke, SkyAlyne’s General Manager. “The CT-153 Juno will provide future RCAF pilots with a modern, mission-ready training platform designed to support the operational demands of tomorrow’s air force.”
The H135 platform was selected by SkyAlyne for the FAcT program to meet the evolving operational and training requirements of future RCAF rotary-wing aircrew. Equipped with twin engines and the Airbus’ Helionix avionics suite, the aircraft is capable of meeting all aspects of the pilot Qualification Standard, replacing the two separate helicopter fleets used on the current training program. The modern digital cockpit environment will support a seamless transition to the RCAF’s operational fleets. In total, SkyAlyne is acquiring 19 of these aircraft for the RCAF as part of the FAcT program.

Initial flights and installation of the Canadian STCs in Fort Erie represent important steps in validating aircraft performance, systems integration, and overall airworthiness. This phase of testing ensures the platform meets the rigorous standards required to support the training of future RCAF pilots.
The CT-153 Juno’s livery reflects both heritage and modernization, incorporating the RCAF’s historic training yellow alongside contemporary blue tones and national red-and-white elements. Designed for visibility and identity, the aircraft signals a forward-looking approach to Canadian aircrew training.
Final RCAF markings will be applied in the coming weeks, prior to delivery to the RCAF.
As the advanced rotary-wing training aircraft for the FAcT program, the CT-153 Juno will play a central role in delivering a comprehensive, integrated training system for the next generation of RCAF pilots.
The CT-153 Juno is powered by two full authority digital engine control (FADEC) Pratt & Whitney Canada PW206B3 engines and includes the Airbus Helionix avionics suite. Canada’s Juno fleet will be based at 15 Wing Southport with the 3 Canadian Forces Flying Training School.
With flight testing underway and fleet delivery progressing, this milestone underscores continued momentum in the delivery of a made-in-Canada training capability for decades to come.
SkyAlyne is acquiring 19 CT-153 Junos for the RCAF with deliveries beginning in mid-2026.
Team SkyAlyne has successfully completed Factory Acceptance of the first CT-157 Siskin II (Pilatus PC-21) aircraft at the Pilatus production facility in Stans, Switzerland, marking another important milestone in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program.
Factory acceptance represents a critical step in the aircraft delivery process, ensuring the aircraft meets all contractual and performance requirements prior to transit to Canada later this year. The acceptance activities included comprehensive inspections and verification of aircraft systems, avionics, and overall build quality, conducted in close collaboration with representatives from SkyAlyne, the RCAF, KF Aerospace, Pilatus and the Government of Canada.
This milestone, marked by a ceremony attended by Hon. Stephen Fuhr (Secretary of State for Defence Procurement), His Excellency Ambassador Jean-Paul Lemieux (Ambassador of Canada to Switzerland and Liechtenstein), Mr. Peter Saunders (Director General, Integrated Air Missile Defence, RCAF), Ms. France Hebert (President, SkyAlyne, and President, Defence & Security – Canada and International, CAE), Mr. Peter Fedak (Vice President, Defence Programs, KF Aerospace), Harrison Ruess (Head of Communications, Collaboration, and Stakeholder Relations, SkyAlyne), and Ioannis Papachristofilou (VP Government Aviation & Deputy CEO, Pilatus) and others, builds on continued progress at the Pilatus facility, where production and testing activities are advancing steadily on Canada’s fleet of 19 CT-157s.
The platform is also a strong example of shared economic benefits between Canada and Switzerland. Every PC-21 produced for global customers, including those acquired by SkyAlyne for the RCAF, includes Canadian components, including the powerplant and critical elements of the avionics system.

The 10 SkyAlyne-sponsored scholarships, each valued at $1,000, will support First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students who are either from, or studying in, geographic areas near SkyAlyne’s Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program sites, including Moose Jaw, SK, Southport, MB, and Winnipeg, MB, and SkyAlyne’s headquarters in Ottawa, ON.
This initiative marks a shared commitment by SkyAlyne and the RCAF Foundation to foster greater inclusion and representation in STEM fields, while investing in the next generation of talent within communities connected to the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program ecosystem.

On April 20, Team SkyAlyne was pleased to join the Royal Canadian Air Force in marking the start of flying for the CT-102B Astra II (Grob G 120TP) aircraft at 15 Wing Moose Jaw as part of the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program.

“To achieve Astra II flight ops, everyone has worked together,” said Kevin Lemke, General Manager of SkyAlyne. “This outcome-focused mindset sets FAcT apart. The way our teams are going about this work gives me high confidence that our FAcT Enterprise is on the right track.”
When in service in the RCAF, the CT-102B Astra II will serve as the Basic Flying Training aircraft. 15 Wing Moose Jaw will become the new home of the Basic Flying Training program, succeeding the Primary Flying Training syllabus currently conducted at Southport, MB. The two-seater aircraft is powered by the Rolls-Royce M250-B17F turbine engine, which produces up to 456 shaft horsepower. Paired with a typical operating weight in the range of approximately only 1,500kg, the result is a highly capable and responsive aircraft.
As additional aircraft are delivered to Canada, the Astra II fleet at 15 Wing Moose Jaw will continue to grow to a total fleet of 23, as SkyAlyne develops the core platform for basic flight training under the new program. The FAcT program includes updates to curriculum design, simulation, and live flying components, with the goal of creating an integrated training environment aligned with RCAF operational requirements.
There are currently five CT-102Bs delivered to 15 Wing Moose Jaw, with additional deliveries continuing throughout 2026 and into 2027.
Over two weeks in late March and early April, members of SkyAlyne, CAE, KF Aerospace, and Royal Canadian Air Force teams had the opportunity to see vital assets for the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program in-person, with visits to several aircraft production facilities in Germany and Switzerland, along with attending the Military Flight Training Conference in Switzerland.
The itinerary included meetings and tours with Airbus, Grob, and Pilatus, where three of the aircraft fleets for the FAcT program are currently in production. These visits were very useful and provided a detailed view of manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and program progress at each organization.
At Airbus, in Donauwörth, Germany, the delegation toured production facilities and met with program representatives to review the CT-153 Juno (Airbus H135) aircraft being delivered as part of FAcT. The visit enabled direct engagement with the supplier while observing progress on the production line, including a test flight of a Juno recently out-of-manufacturing.
Similarly, the visit to Grob, in Tussenhausen-Mattsies, Germany, included a walkthrough of the manufacturing facilities, where the CT-102B Astra II (Grob G 120TP) is being produced. Important conversations with the supplier also took place, regarding the aircraft on order, including production status and milestones.
At Pilatus, in Stans, Switzerland, the delegation toured production areas and met with the teams to discuss the CT-157 Siskin II (Pilatus PC-21) aircraft being procured for the FAcT program. The visit provided an opportunity to observe the build process and engage directly on key aspects of delivery, and included a fly-by demonstration of the aircraft.
On February 26, the first production test flight of the first CT-157 Siskin II (Pilatus PC-21), destined for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), successfully took place at the Pilatus production facility in Stans, Switzerland.
The flight, lasting approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, included advanced mechanical and avionics testing to ensure smooth flight operations and optimal system performance. This included functional testing of the engine, aircraft systems, and flight controls that are a part of Pilatus’ manufacturing processes.
“This is a very exciting milestone in the progression of the program,” said Charles Caldwell, SkyAlyne’s Program Manager for the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program. “PC-21s (CT-157s) have been identified as the ideal advanced training platform for RCAF pilots and are an integral piece of the FAcT program.”
On the FAcT program, the CT-157 will support two courses: the Advanced Flying Training – Fixed Wing (AFT-FW) course, as well as the Advanced Flying Training – Jet (AFT-Jet) course.

January 14, 2025 // Ottawa, ON and Winnipeg, MB, in the National Homeland of the Red River Métis — Today, the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), the National Government of the Red River Métis, Métis N4 Construction Inc., and SkyAlyne are pleased to jointly announce the signing of a long-term lease agreement for office space in Kanata, Ontario.
The agreement, formally between SkyAlyne Canada Limited Partnership and Métis N4 Construction Inc., will see SkyAlyne relocate its corporate headquarters to 3000 Solandt Road, a building owned by Métis N4 Construction, Inc. This location, once renovated, will also serve as the home of the Joint Management Office (JMO) for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program.
“A cornerstone of the FAcT program is Indigenous participation, and I am very pleased to see this long-term agreement come together in support of both SkyAlyne’s corporate needs as well as our delivery of the FAcT program,” commented SkyAlyne General Manager Kevin Lemke. “Further, this is a strong business-to-business relationship, that highlights the importance of SkyAlyne supporting capacity within Indigenous communities, enabling Indigenous businesses to compete for and win contracts in the Defence sector.”

SkyAlyne: The Future of Aircrew Training SkyAlyne is a team of defence, training, simulation, and aviation industry experts assembled from across Canada, working to prepare the next generation of Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Pilots and Aircrew as the Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program provider. SkyAlyne was formed in 2018 as a partnership between CAE and KF Aerospace, two Canadian aviation, training, and defence leaders. The partnership was built to jointly answer the call for the Government of Canada’s FAcT program. In spring 2024, SkyAlyne was officially contracted to partner with the RCAF and deliver the FAcT program.
