North Runway closed at YVR due to aircraft incident

Operations update

At approximately 1:45 a.m., this morning (November 19), upon landing a CargoJet flight operating a PrimeAir aircraft overran the eastern boundary of YVRs North Runway. Safety and security are our top priorities. YVR Fire and Rescue attended. There were no injuries reported and the CargoJet crew of three were safely deplaned.

The North Runway is currently closed. Teams are on site assessing the situation. This event will have an impact on YVR operations while we work to bring the North Runway safely back into operation. We encourage passengers to check with their airlines for current flight schedules and status. We will provide further updates on the situation regularly and as new information becomes available. We appreciate the work of those responding to the incident and everybody’s patience.
