  • CAE signs 10-year pilot training agreement with Batik Air

    SINGAPORE, Aug. 29, 2023 /CNW/ – (NYSE: CAE) (TSX: CAE) Global aviation training leader, CAE, today announced at the Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium (APATS) that it has secured a 10-year pilot training agreement with Batik Air. CAE will deploy and operate an advanced B737 MAX full-flight simulator at Batik Air’s facility in Kuala Lumpur, ensuring a world-class training experience for the airline’s pilots.

    In addition, Batik Air will adopt the use of CAE Rise™, CAE’s data-driven training system which leverages advanced analytics to deliver more effective training and enhance operational safety.

  • CAE donates $ 160,000 to First Nations Technical Institute,  the only Indigenous flight school of its kind in Canada

    CAE’s Marc-Olivier Sabourin, Angela McCune, France Hébert, Nathaniel Pitt and Pascale Alpha with FNTI’s Jo-Anne Tabobandung, Minister François-Philippe Champagne and Member of Parliament Andy Fillmore at CANSEC in Ottawa.

    CAE announced a $160,000 donation to the First Nations Technical Institute (FNTI) located on Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, near Kingston, Ontario. This contribution will support pilot training and enhance the skillsets of students.

    “CAE is delighted to partner with the only Indigenous post-secondary flight school of its kind in Canada to help further diversity in the aviation industry. We hope this step will be the first of many in building a long-term relationship with FNTI as part of CAE’s commitment to invest in skills development & training initiatives for Indigenous Peoples,” said CAE’s CEO and President Marc Parent.

    CAE’s donation will allow FNTI to grow their training programs and equip the next generation of Indigenous aviation professionals with unparalleled learning opportunities. As a result of this investment, FNTI plans on acquiring Garmin G1000 training suites and training aids.

    This is CAE’s latest initiative to elevate diversity in the aerospace industry. With 260,000 new pilots needed over the next 10 years, it is imperative to attract more pilots from diverse backgrounds. In 2022, CAE expanded its CAE Women in Flight program by partnering with Air Canada to double the number of 2023 Captain Judy Cameron Scholarships granted to young Canadian women studying to become commercial pilots or maintenance engineers. CAE’s Women in Flight scholarship program is creating momentum to encourage young women to pursue a career as a commercial pilot.

    31 May 2023 – CAE Inc. (CAE or the Company) today reported fourth quarter fiscal 2023 revenue of $1,256.5 million, compared with $955.0 million last year. Fourth quarter EPS was $0.31 compared to $0.17 last year. Adjusted EPS was $0.35 compared to $0.29 last year. Operating income this quarter was $186.6 million (14.9% of revenue(1)), compared to $93.3 million (9.8% of revenue) last year. Fourth quarter adjusted segment operating income was $201.9 million (16.1% of revenue(1)) compared to $142.7 million (14.9% of revenue) last year.

    Annual fiscal 2023 revenue was $4.2 billion, compared to $3.4 billion last year. Annual diluted EPS was $0.70 compared to $0.45 in fiscal 2022. Adjusted EPS was $0.88 this year compared to $0.84 last year. Annual operating income was $474.0 million (11.3% of revenue), compared to $284.2 million (8.4% of revenue) last year. Adjusted segment operating income was $548.1 million (13.0% of revenue), up 23% compared to $444.5 million (13.2% of revenue) last year.  All financial information is in Canadian dollars.

  • CAE and Endeavor Air celebrate major expansion to Minneapolis-St. Paul training centre

    50,000 square-foot addition allows Endeavor Air to consolidate all crew training in Minneapolis-St. Paul

    MINNEAPOLIS, May 24, 2023 /CNW/ – (NYSE: CAE) (TSX: CAE) – CAE and Endeavor Air today inaugurated their expanded training centre in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. The training centre recently underwent a 50,000 square-foot expansion to make space for Endeavor’s Flight Operations and Inflight Training departments and three additional CRJ full-flight simulators (FFS) that will allow Endeavor Air to consolidate all its pilot and cabin crew training, which previously took place in multiple locations, at the state-of-the-art centre in Minneapolis-St. Paul. With this expansion, the facility is now the largest CRJ training facility in the world.

    Endeavor Air anticipates that approximately 2,000 pilots will visit the Endeavor Air Learning Center at CAE each year for training. Currently 120 instructors support the flight operations training program and 16 instructors support the flight attendant training program. Between 2,000 and 2,300 flight attendants will come through the facility for both new-hire and annual recurrent training each year.

  • CAE and Air Canada sign exclusive maintenance training agreement

    Montreal, Canada, September 7, 2021 (NYSE: CAE; TSX: CAE) – CAE and Air Canada announced the signing of an exclusive five-year aircraft maintenance training partnership agreement. As a result, CAE is now Air Canada’s embedded Transport Canada Approved Training Organization for Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering.

    The agreement includes the development, management and delivery of all of Air Canada’s maintenance and engineering training, including all regulatory approved training. CAE will implement many of its state-of-the-art digital training technologies, including training and qualifications management, virtual 360 aircraft environments and a new digital solution that will enable Air Canada to explore modern training environments such as evidence-based training.

    MONTREAL, April 30, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — (NYSE: CAE; TSX: CAE) – CAE announced today at the World Aviation Training Symposium its fifth partner for the CAE Women in Flight scholarship program, American Airlines.

    “We are very excited to collaborate with American Airlines to offer a scholarship to aspiring female pilots in the US,” said Nick Leontidis, CAE’s Group President, Civil Aviation Training Solutions. “The program encourages passionate and exceptional women to accomplish their goal of becoming professional pilots and inspire a new generation of female pilots.”

    CAE is a training provider of the American Airlines Cadet Academy, delivering training at the CAE aviation academy located in Phoenix, Arizona. This first-of-its-kind scholarship program provides an opportunity for future pilots to become first officers at one of American Airlines’ three wholly owned regional carriers, with the opportunity to eventually fly larger aircraft at the airline.

    The CAE Women in Flight scholarship recipient will receive a full tuition scholarship that will cover the entire cost of training in the American Airlines Cadet Academy program at CAE, including accommodations and travel. Additionally, the recipient may have the opportunity to become a certified flight instructor (CFI) and work at the CAE aviation academy in Phoenix to gain the number of hours required for certification.

    American Airlines joins four other global airline partners who offer CAE Women in Flight scholarships to cadet pilots: Aeromexico, AirAsia, Cityjet and easyJet. CAE will unveil the first scholarship recipients this summer.

    The CAE Tech: Program your career! initiative supports the development of technical careers and underlines the importance of work-integrated learning

    CAE announced today the launch of the CAE Tech: Program your career!  support and scholarship program, thus showing its commitment to work-integrated learning.

    This program aims to encourage future technicians of varying backgrounds to begin their careers with CAE. Students who are passionate about IT, software development, digital technologies, systems integration, and avionics are invited to register in order to kick their career into high gear.

    To launch the program, CAE worked with the following Quebec-based CEGEPs: André-Laurendeau, Bois-de-Boulogne, Édouard-Montpetit and its affiliated École nationale d’aérotechnique (ÉNA), John-Abbott and Montmorency, in collaboration with their respective foundation.

    Every year for three years, CAE will offer the following to two students registered full-time from each participating institution:

    • a $1,000 scholarship.
    • A $300 scholarship per session for student tuition fees, for a maximum of six semesters;
    • paid summer internships or jobs;
    • an opportunity for an on-call work contract during the school year until the students complete their program. CAE will give priority to the interns’ studies and agrees to conform to their school schedule.
    • an opportunity for a full-time employment offer at the end of their studies.
    • mentorship services to guide students during their participation in the program.

    In total, 30 students will benefit from this program. The admission of scholarship recipients into the program will take into account CAE’s values of diversity and inclusion.
