Saint John, NB — July 14, 2025 – The skies over Saint John will come alive in August 2026 as the Saint John Airport (YSJ) proudly welcomes Air Show Atlantic, one of the largest and most thrilling aviation events in Eastern Canada. Produced by the Nova Scotia International Air Show Association (NSIASA), this non-profit organization has delivered awe-inspiring aerial performances and family-friendly experiences since 1996.
Air Show Atlantic is the only annual air show produced east of Montreal, attracting thousands of fans, hundreds of volunteers, and offering two days of unforgettable flyovers, acrobatic performances, and static aircraft displays. The show will appeal to both aviation enthusiasts and families, promising excitement on the ground and in the air.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to bring Air Show Atlantic to New Brunswick and to host it right here at YSJ,” said Lori Carle, Manager of Marketing and Public Relations for Saint John Airport. “It’s a unique opportunity to showcase our airport, welcome visitors from across the region, and inspire the next generation of aviation lovers.”
Air Show Atlantic has previously been held across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island, after moving from its former home at 12-Wing Shearwater in 2004. The 2026 edition promises to be one of the most dynamic yet, with a wide variety of military and civilian aircraft expected to participate.
Further details, including performer announcements, ticketing information, and volunteer opportunities, will be released in the coming months.

10 May 2024 – SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Airport is pleased to announce a new regional air service providing weekday flights between Saint John, Halifax and Bathurst – providing much-needed air connections for New Brunswick travellers.
Quebec-based PASCAN Aviation will launch the new regional service Sept. 9 with two daily return flights Monday to Friday between Saint John and Halifax along with one same-day return flight between Bathurst and Saint John every weekday.
The flights mark the re-establishment of regional air service in New Brunswick after it was halted with the arrival of COVID-19 in 2020.
Saint John Airport President and CEO Alexander (Sandy) Ross is thrilled to welcome the new PASCAN service, calling it “absolutely critical” to reviving regional air connectivity. It positions the Saint John Airport well for future expansion in the region and connections with other carriers that operate service from Saint John to elsewhere in Canada.
“Prior to 2020, the route between Saint John and Halifax alone supported 24,000 passengers annually and was one of the most viable commercial routes in Atlantic Canada,” Ross says. “This is all about getting back to business as usual.”
Said Marie Manning, VP Business Development & Chief Commercial Officer at the Halifax International Airport Authority: “We welcome the return of regional air service between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. This new connection will provide much-needed flexibility and efficiency for those travelling between our communities and will further strengthen our region’s air transportation network.”
PASCAN will use SAAB 340B aircraft with 30-passenger capacity. Ross said the size of the plane is the right fit for regional air travel. He expects the daily routes between northern New Brunswick, Saint John and Halifax will be particularly well-received by the business community.
It will also enable leisure travellers a fast and efficient connection to the world through Halifax and allow New Brunswick families needing medical care in either Saint John or Halifax to have same-day service. The airport currently offers regular service to Toronto and Montreal via Air Canada and Flair Airlines, and has concluded a successful first year of service to Orlando.
For Bathurst, which has seen regular service dwindle from three flights a day pre-pandemic to four flights per week now, the new PASCAN service is a daily lifeline to major centres, and allows for opportunities for further growth.
“This makes the Bathurst airport sustainable again,” says Jamie Degrace, CEO of the Bathurst Regional Airport. “We’re going to have more options for the travelling public, the business traveller and the rotational worker.”
PASCAN President and CEO Julian Roberts says the new routes in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia are a natural fit with the airline’s network of regional routes that include service to points in Quebec and Labrador.
“We’ve been looking at the Maritimes for a while now. We’re very excited about these routes,” Roberts says. “Our plan is to use these initial routes as something of a trampoline to deploy to other underserved or not-served markets in the Maritimes.”
PASCAN, founded in 1999, transports more than 80,000 passengers annually. Its operations are based at Montreal Metropolitan Airport, formerly known as Montreal Saint-Hubert Airport. Fifteen minutes from downtown Montreal, the airport is undergoing a significant expansion and will serve up to four million passengers annually as Porter Aviation invests in a new terminal.
PASCAN is working on agreements that would allow for seamless connections with the flights offered by larger airlines.
About the Saint John Airport: Saint John Airport Inc. is a community-based, not-for-profit corporation serving the air travel needs of residents of southwestern New Brunswick. About PASCAN Aviation: Since 1999, PASCAN Aviation, Québec’s largest independent air carrier, has been providing an affordable link between the regions and major centres of Quebec and Labrador via daily flights to many municipalities. New, non-stop service between Montreal and Fort McMurray
Increased frequencies on Toronto-Kelowna, Winnipeg-Toronto, Montreal- Vancouver
Air Canada will offer over 600 daily flights on 97 routes to 51 destinations in Canada this summer, the most of any carrier
MONTREAL, Dec. 6, 2022 /CNW Telbec/ – Air Canada today announced a new service between Montreal and Fort McMurray that will launch next June as part of the carrier’s Canadian summer schedule. For summer 2023, Air Canada is also restoring suspended services and increasing frequencies on popular routes across Canada, as the company augments its Canadian network following the pandemic.
“As the country’s flag carrier, Air Canada’s increased Canadian summer schedule further reinforces our role in providing critical connectivity to Canadians coast-to-coast. Our new Montreal-Fort McMurray service brings easier access from eastern Canada to one of the critical economic hubs of Alberta. And with the prudent restoration of suspended routes and increased frequencies on others, we are improving our customers’ options for domestic travel. We are looking forward to an exceptional summer, with service on 97 domestic routes to 51 Canadian airports, making us the largest Canadian carrier, with the most seats and capacity available for travellers,” said Mark Galardo, Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Revenue Management at Air Canada.
“Furthermore, we’ve built our Canadian summer schedule to synchronize with our recently announced summer international schedule, facilitating connectivity through our hubs for our customers, whether they’re traveling within Canada, across the border to the US, or to our many destinations worldwide. “
