  • Skyservice Expands to Vancouver, British Columbia

    Providing Full Business Aviation Service at Canada’s Second-Busiest Airport

    TORONTO, Feb. 16, 2023 /CNW/ – Skyservice Business Aviation (“Skyservice” or “the Company”), a North American leader in business aviation, is expanding its full-service business aviation operations to Vancouver International Airport (“YVR”), Canada.

    Skyservice Vancouver will offer fixed-based operations (FBO), maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), charter, aircraft management, and aircraft sales and acquisition services. This property is the eleventh full-service private jet center for Skyservice. The company has two additional locations specifically designated for avionics, aircraft upgrades and heavy maintenance in Muskoka, Ontario, and the newly acquired 80,000 square-foot hangar at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport.

    The company has agreed to a long-term lease with World Fuel Services at Canada’s second-busiest airport with plans to modernize the existing property and further invest in the buildout of the location’s business aviation service capacity.

In February, the company will open in Napa, California and begin work on a new private jet hangar in Seattle to replace its Boeing Field site.   • Skyservice Business Aviation Receives TCCA, FAA, & EASA Supplemental Type Certificate Approval for Satcom’s Plane Simple™ KU Band Installations

    TORONTO, Dec. 15, 2022 /CNW/ – Skyservice™ Business Aviation (“Skyservice”), a North American leader in business aviation, announced it has received Transport Canada (TCCA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) supplemental type certification (STC) approval for the integration of Satcom Direct Plane Simple™ Ku-band Tail Mounted Antenna (TMA) systems.  The newly certified integration is available on Bombardier Challenger 604/605/650 and Global Express/XRS/5000/6000 series aircraft models.  

    Satcom Direct Plane Simple™ terminals are powered by the Intelsat FlexExec high throughput, satellite constellation, facilitating consistent, reliable inflight connectivity globally. Designed exclusively for business aviation, the Plane Simple terminal consists of just two-line replaceable units, the antenna and the SD modem unit, and when combined with the dedicated Intelsat FlexExec business aviation network, simplifies high-speed data access for more corporate and private aircraft owners worldwide.

  • Skyservice Expands its Network to California with New Jet Center

    The modern facility will provide world-class aviation services to the Napa community

    TORONTO, Dec. 7, 2022 /CNW/ – Skyservice Business Aviation (“Skyservice California” or “Skyservice”), a North American leader in business aviation, announced today its award-winning private jet center network will be expanding to Napa, California.

    The 60,000-square-foot full-service private jet center at Napa County Airport (APC) will include fixed-based operations (FBO) and maintenance services. The new facility will also provide luxurious lounge amenities for passengers and flight crews, conference room capabilities and upscale customer services.

Upon completion, the facility will support some of the industry’s top sustainable operations solutions.

    Skyservice’s recently constructed, 32,000-square-foot facility in Redmond features a contemporary hangar designed with 28-foot hangar doors and a large ramp, expanding the company’s service offering to include modern aircraft, such as the Global 7500 and 8000.

    In Bend, Skyservice has constructed an additional 16,000 square-foot hangar to accommodate the increased number of clients looking to base their aircraft conveniently at the airport. It joins the business’ 10,000-square-foot maintenance, repair, and overhaul services complex.

  • Skyservice Business Aviation Expands Presence in Montréal

    TORONTO, Sept. 20, 2022 /CNW/ – Skyservice Business Aviation (“Skyservice” or the “Company”), a North American leader in business aviation, today announced it has acquired a heavy-body aircraft hangar and office facility from Bombardier, thereby doubling the Company’s footprint at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (“YUL”) in Montréal, Canada.

    The 153,000- square-foot property includes 80,000 square feet of hangar space, providing Skyservice with greater capacity to perform nose-to-tail heavy aircraft maintenance as well as support the growing demand for aircraft management at YUL, one of Canada’s busiest airports.

Under his leadership, the business expanded its retail footprint by 75%. Prior to Mike’s Carwash, Ty held progressively responsible roles at NetJets Inc., the largest private aviation company in the world, including as Senior Vice President, Charter Sales & Customer Experience, where he was responsible for the worldwide operations, dispatch and logistics for over 210 aircraft. Mr. Dubay was also the former President of NetJets China, where he led the establishment of NetJets in Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China (PRC), obtaining CCAR Parts 135 and 145 certifications and building the facilities and world-class team of aviation experts in the region.

    Ms. Tang brings more than 25 years of experience in finance and business leadership to Skyservice. She is a CPA, CA and CFA and holds a Master of Science in Accounting degree from the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to joining Skyservice, Ms. Tang was most recently Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust, one of the largest publicly traded real estate companies in Canada.

    This year marks the 35th anniversary for Skyservice™ Business Aviation, Canada’s leading business aviation services provider to private jet owners, travel enthusiasts and commercial clients. Launched in 1986 in Montréal offering regional fixed base operations (FBO), Skyservice has grown into a world-class, full-service aviation company trusted by its clients and recognized in the industry for its safety, service excellence and seamless offering of travel services and aircraft ownership.

    “Skyservice has achieved this milestone through the hard work and dedication of our people and our culture of customer service that exists throughout the entire organization,” said Benjamin Murray, President and Chief Executive Officer. “This milestone is more than a number. It has a minimum flashpoint of 38°C and a maximum freezing point of -47°C. JET A-1 is the principal fuel used for jet turbine engines.

AirSprint, Canada’s pioneer in Fractional Jet Ownership, will be the first Skyservice customer to operate with SAF.

    “We are aggressively seeking to lessen the impact of our operations on the environment and offering low-carbon fuels is one of many ways we are doing that,” said Benjamin Murray, President & CEO of Skyservice. “Our objective is to achieve carbon neutrality at Skyservice by 2050. By offering SAF, we can effectively contribute to fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions reduction goals as set out by the International Civil Aviation Organization and advance our own corporate environmental protection mission.”

    Skyservice will make SAF available to all customers, providing the opportunity to reduce the life cycle emissions by  20% compared to traditional jet fuel, based on a life cycle assessment of  70 percent reduction in carbon dioxide for “Neat SAF” in a 30 percent Neat SAF / 70 percent JET A-1 fuel blend.

    Skyservice’s Toronto South Terminal, located at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) is the first of its’ Fixed-based Operations to receive its first SAF shipment from World Fuel Services. The SAF was produced by World Energy, the world’s first and America’s only commercial-scale SAF production company.
